1. No Contrast. The medium grey mushes with the dark, dull blue color so only the white stands out.
As a result, the logo looks like it says “Ass St.” Especially from far.
2. No Meaning. The person icon replacing the “I” doesn’t symbolize anything medical. It represents either a human being or a men’s restroom.
3. Poor Icon Placement. The blue person icon isn’t centered properly. It is closer to the S on the right.
4. Unbalanced Font. The tapered M is incongruent with the rest because of it’s flared bottom.
I am not a fan of Medical Assist’s old logo, but it is better than the new one. It’s readable and has a more representative icon.
I added contrast by choosing a brighter blue and a darker grey. The blue person icon serving as the “I” added to the illusion of “Ass St,” and it didn’t have a medical correlation, so I got rid of it altogether. A helpful hand with a cross symbol was more appropriate. I also changed the font to one that was bolder and more aesthetically pleasing.
